Dealing with Auto claims:
Remember to get as much information from the other driver as possible
Drivers License number, Plate number, and of course phone numbers
- Now that everyone has a camera on their phones, it doesn't hurt to take pictures of the damages to both vehicles
Don't forget to report the accident as soon as possible! After your accident feel free to either contact our office or your insurance carrier directly. Individuals are required to send their "accident report" to the RMV, and the local police station in which the accident occurred. Our representatives are more than happy to help you getting your reports sent to the correct locations. Give us a call so we can help you with this process.
Always ask your insurance representative if you are covered for the specific accident. Our agents are available to explain your coverages to you and answer any questions you'll have about whether you're covered from an accident,
Always stay Calm - Remember that even the best drivers in the world get into accidents. Accidents happen, and no matter how the other party seems to react to the circumstance, you must keep a level head and gather all your information. This attitude will help make the claims process as painless as possible.
Dealing with Homeowners Claims:
Secure the property, especially the damaged area of the building. Sometimes the home will need emergency/temporary repairs like boarding up a hole in the roof. Take care of these issues as soon as you can to prevent any further damage to the home.
Notify our office or the insurance company as soon as possible following your loss. This helps to establish an accurate date of loss for the insurance company.
TAKE PICTURES!
Take inventory on all the damaged personal property, and do all you can to prevent any further damage to the home. When there is a loss to the home that has potential to cause more damage, get the damage corrected to prevent things from getting worse. Keep your receipts, your insurance company should pay for preventative corrections from a covered loss.
